After passing the NCE, graduating, and receiving my associate's license, I want to work for a more prominent agency. I am completing my internship at a small, private practice. While there are plenty of clients to serve, the population I am serving is not one that I am passionate about. I want to work with teenagers who have feeding and eating disorders, and that is not a population that I have had the opportunity to work with at my site. I am also interested in gender and sexuality counseling, which I have had a small experience with at my site. Lastly, I am finding that I work well with counseling men, who could be my target population. In my first year working in the field, I want to build a strong client base and hone my skills to serve my clients better. I also want to develop a strong working relationship with my supervisor while attaining my license. After 3 years of establishing a reputation as a strong, reliable, helpful counselor, I would like to start building my holistic private practice in counseling, meditation, and yoga.
