Description: A 10-page literature review analyzing the MDQ and the effectiveness of using this with bipolar or potentially bipolar clients.
Rationale: This research into the MDQ allowed me to continue research on bipolar disorder and demonstrate a critical analysis of appraisal tools.

CNS 768: Psychopharmacology for Counselors
Title: The Case of Christopher
Description: A 7-page case evaluation of a client diagnosed with schizophrenia and discussing the medications prescribed to them.
Rationale: This assignment allowed for a deep dive into medication that may be required for clients diagnosed with schizophrenia and the effectiveness of the prescribed medication. This assignment was also an elective that I chose to give me a more thorough education.

Description: This assignment required an interview with a counselor who specializes in sexuality counseling.

CNS 738b: Clinical Mental Health Practicum
Title: Self-Evaluation Paper
Description: A five-page reflection paper about what I learned during practicum, progress made towards my goals, and identify areas that need improvement.
Rationale: This assignment required me to reflect on the progress I had made over the 14-week practicum experience. I reflected on the aspects that were beneficial to the clients and those that were not. I identified factors that contributed to my effectiveness as a counselor and those that led to burnout.

Title: Genogram Assignment
Description: This assignment was a deep dive into the history of my family and its current dynamics.
Rationale: This assignment forced me to take a look at the not-so-pretty sides of my family and come to terms with things I had not processed yet. This will be beneficial as I walk my clients through their own family dynamics.

Title: Culturally Competent SOAP Note and Literature Review
Description: This assignment consisted of a nine-page SOAP note and literature review on evaluating clients based on their cultural background.
Rationale: This assignment addressed a client who was both a  Christian and a physically disabled person. This assignment forced me to put aside the bias I hold of Christianity and focus on a treatment plan for the client.

Title: Group Plan Proposal
Description: This group proposal was targeted toward adolescent teens diagnosed with a feeding or eating disorder.
Rational: This project demonstrated how a small-scale group approach can be applied in larger agencies, schools, and psychoeducation on a national level.

Item Three:
Journal Entries
CNS 747: Cultures and Counseling
Title: Journal Entries
Description: This assignment required me to examine various cultures to become a more multicultural and competent counselor.
Rationale: In this assignment, I had the opportunity to go to an AAPI festival and a Buddhist temple. I was able to interview someone from the Catawba Nation Tribe, whose reservation is less than 10 minutes from my house. I learned much from this experience. Including how much history has been whitewashed. This had me reflecting on advocacy for this population since the interview.
