Hi! I’m Jen Lyash; I am completing my Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate degree at Wake Forest University. I am a clinical mental health intern at La Vida Counseling PLLC in Waxhaw, NC. I completed my undergraduate at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, with a BA in Communications and a minor in Journalism and Psychology. I am excited for this new career! I am part of the Waxhaw community and love being able to serve my community this way. I strongly believe in the power of the mind-body connection and am a trained yoga teacher. I would be happy to work yoga, meditation, or mindfulness into a part of our sessions if you are interested! I provide a safe space for my clients to speak openly. I am open-minded, empathetic, and non-judgmental. I am passionate about young people and the potential and strength they hold. I believe young people can change the world, and I want to help facilitate that by protecting their mental health. My approach is tailored to each client. I believe each client deserves an approach made specifically for them. I believe in a person-centered, solution-focused approach, and multicultural counseling. When I am not studying or working, you can find me with my family and friends, playing with my dogs, at the yoga studio, or snuggled up with a good book! I look forward to meeting you and working with you to achieve your goals!
